Effective Communication And Personality Essay

Organizational Research and Theory: Personal Assessment Emotional intelligence embodies the ability to identify, understand, manage, and employ an individual's emotions positively in effective communication, solving conflicts, empathizing with others, and relieving stress (Mischel, 2013). All these components resonate with the thinking influences aimed at establishing real connections with others. I find this concept relevant and critical essential in my INTJ personality. The willingness to invest in a significant amount of time and effort on a relationship resonates to the importance of this trait.

Emotional intelligence eases the navigation on social complexities in different settings such as schools, workplaces, and other social environments. Physical and mental health also relies on this attribute. Managing stress and emotions aids the formation of healthy relationships limiting the feelings of isolation and loneliness. Understanding my INTJ personality facilitates better understanding and decision-making processes, conflict resolution, and management of personal influences on others. From this point, it becomes easy to navigate between relationships.

Understanding personality profiles can help reduce workplace conflicts. It remains important for colleagues to learn that their way and personality are not necessarily 'normal' and 'right.' Having an open mind regarding how others conduct themselves within the workplace limits...

Acceptance of others as part of the workplace family neutralizes friction and defensiveness. Understanding personality profiles also depict infusion of professionalism. It remains important for colleagues to portray courteousness and calmness during interactions in the workplace. In doing so, conflict can be avoided.
Watch of tone and the exchanges during communication should occur as a trait of workmates. At times, understanding personality profiles can become difficult for others. In such cases, engaging the management or a third party helps defuse such conflicts. Personality conflicts arise from the lack of understanding of others and rigidity to personal beliefs, views, and opinions. Primarily, defusing such challenges rests on understanding.

Based on personality assessment, I have identified various personality types that cause conflicts within a workplace. Individuals depicting ENTJ traits have a natural tendency of directing others. The executive and 'larger than life' attitude does not go down well with others as they feel threatened or demeaned on a personal capacity. ENTJ characters do not compromise on inefficiency and would like to see things are done in a particular manner. The latter collides with the beliefs and views of others on a consensus and collective engagement type of workplace.
